Chipping Into A Strong Wind

In this video TG Elite Teaching Professional Adrian Fryer gives you some tips to gain more control over ball flight and roll out when chipping into a headwind.

Key Things To Remember From This Video

N

Club Choice

Club selection is critical when faced with chipping into a headwind.

;

Less Loft

Too much loft like a lob or sand wedge makes it difficult to gauge the balls reaction on landing. Putting over the fringe onto a windy surface can also be tricky particularly if the fringe is uneven.

&

8 Iron

Don’t be afraid to aim for a straighter faced club like a 7 or 8 iron. This provides enough loft to take the fringe out of play but a low enough trajectory to allow the ball to run out towards the pin.
