Getting his own back from our last match he chipped my 2 up lead to send me home with my tail between my legs until the next time!! Today alongside coaching ‘young’ folk I was able to assist two former low single golfers who’s ages totalled 177 years🚨 It’s absolutely brilliant these ‘students’ I’ve coached for over 30+ years still have the drive and passion to get better 🙏Even managed to enjoy a little virtual golf on our superb @toptracer @liverpoolgolfcentre taking on a spritely 90yr old over the @thehomeofgolf Old Course! Congratulations to #lancsgolfunion and @southport_ Congratulations to #lancsgolfunion and @southport_and_ainsdale_golf + 5 h’cp young man @jack.mc8 on his Victory yesterday winning the historic and prestigious Henriques Trophy @heskethgolfclub After finishing runner up here in 2022 and letting a good scoring round slip from his grasp last week at the #LythamTrophy Jack showed the necessary resilience to bounce back with an emphatic -6 total and 3 shot Victory yesterday. Great scoring and win in this Northern OOM Amateur event, but more importantly a good springboard heading into the Irish Amateur Championship, The Brabazon, Scots Am and Links Trophy. Classy scoring from a classy young guy! Onward!👊💪🏆👌⛳️🏌️‍♂️

The course was as magnificent as ever having just hosted the prestigious #LythamTrophy A joy to stride the fairways so many great champions have before, from Harold Hilton, Bobby Jones through the centuries to #Seve and @ernieelsgolf The course is always a stern test, even on a calm day like yesterday. Alongside all the heritage and tradition the club retains it’s just brilliant to see the collection of the most historic moments in golf and artefacts of the game from the greatest amateurs to Professionals. Thanks for a very warm welcome from everyone @royallythamprofessionalshop ,the clubhouse, starter and look forward to the next time.👌⛳️🏌️🇬🇧

Had a great day yesterday at the fabulous @formbygolfclub courtesy of members @gazgolf4 and brother Jim re-uniting and playing with many of the #StAndrews 25’ trip boys.👏👏I’ve played this wonderful golf course many many times over the last 40 years and I have to say, the course and the welcome from all the staff from the moment we arrived to the end of a fantastic evening was the best ever.Ahead of this weekend’s prestigious #FormbyHare the course was superbly presented, the improvements and attention to detail was impressive. A tough test as ever so let’s see how the elite players manage the historic links this weekend.The new Course manager, the secretary’s and executive chef appointments have taken things to a new level.The fine dining Apres golf was equal to any five star restaurant and topped off a brilliant day👌- just wished my golf been equally as impressive 🏌️‍♂️🤔Of all the course I’ve ever played this firmly sits inside my top ten anywhere in the World for its natural sandy links and pine tree lined terrain- just a pleasure to play. 👏👏👏looking forward to the return match 🙏⛳️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ...
