Following on from the successful North Region PGA Coaching Conference Adrian was asked to be one of the speakers and create a coaching seminar to accompany the Cheshire and North Wales PGA AGM held at Drivetime in March.
He chose to talk to the assembled PGA professionals about traditional teaching methods using ball flight etc compared with using technology like video, biomechanics, launch monitors and force plates. The presentation included footage of day-to-day faults and fixes along with cures and theory for elite golfers.
PGA Professional John Watson representing Total Golf Analysis and Angela Jackson a highly experienced physiotherapist familiar with the strength, speed and movements of the golf swing and injury prevention went into great detail about biomechanics and long-term athlete development. Injury prevention, exercises, screening and drills were discussed for various golfers and how traditional or technical analysis would fit into many of the teachers’ environments.
The event proved to be very popular with the attendees and looks set to be repeated next year.
